On behalf of York Regional Council, The Regional Municipality of York and York Region Public Health, we would like to extend our appreciation to the Township of King for opening and operating the Trisan Centre as a mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic. The willingness of our municipal partners to open local facilities as vaccination sites has made a significant impact in the fight against COVID-19.
Responding to the COVID-19 global pandemic has required the expertise and cooperation of many community partners who have worked collaboratively to protect the health and well-being of our residents. Your leadership in setting up a Regional vaccination clinic ensured the safe and timely administration of COVID-19 vaccines and helped support a strong and aggressive vaccination program throughout York Region.
The Trisan Centre clinic’s innovative approach to administering COVID-19 vaccinations set the standard for clinic operations across York Region. The introduction of the Hockey Hub vaccination model and the Dawn to Dusk vaccination event, both piloted at the Trisan Centre clinic and replicated at other clinics, allowed York Region to increase daily throughput, increase vaccinations and ease staffing pressures.
Clinic staff’s commitment to exceptional customer service throughout operations ensured residents were provided with empathetic and high-quality care during their vaccination appointment and beyond. With more than 65,000 vaccine doses administered, your clinic truly made a difference in the fight against COVID-19.
We would also like to specifically acknowledge the outstanding work of clinic manager Heather Watson, her leadership throughout and her introduction of the Hockey Hub vaccination model.
On behalf of York Region and our 1.2 million residents, thank you again for the operation of the Trisan Centre COVID-19 vaccine clinic. Your partnership and dedication to build a strong, caring and safe community for all is truly appreciated.
