New King Township Recreation Complex in Ward 1
Council received an update on the new recreation complex being built in Ward 1. After many years King City is finally getting a new facility and it truly promises to be a wonderful community gathering space.
The design parameters were set to the Council approved capital budget of 37M back in 2019. Design at the MINIMUM will include the following:
1. NHL sized rink and proper viewing stands.
2. An indoor pool.
3. Dome with athletic field and track.
If a second ice pad is within the budget it will be included. I fully support a second ice pad if the demand in future growth determines their is a need, I am a firm believer of building things right the first time.
