Art Sale Aids Volunteer Mission to Rwanda

Updated: Nov 24, 2018

A good friend of mine and great member of King Township, Mark Pavilons, has reached out to me to help bring attention to his fundraising efforts for his daughter's Humanitarian Mission trip to Rwanda, for 5 weeks, in 2019. To help achieve the funds necessary for this mission he will be selling some of his personal art collection. This trip is a self-less act by the Pavilon Family and I encourage all members of the community to come together and donate what they can or purchase one of these fine items.

For sale is “Greenland Memories,” an original acrylic on canvas painting by Austrian-Canadian artist Ernestine Tahedl. The internationally renowned artist painted this limited edition as part of a small series in 2008, after a trip to Greenland. Measures 56 x 51 cm. Valued at $2,300. Best offer. Proceeds from the sale help support University of Western student Alexandria Hesketh-Pavilons, who will be doing volunteer mission work in Kigali, Rwanda through the university’s interdisciplinary experiential learning course offered at Western. She will engage in 5 weeks of active and interactive community service. She will be an “ambassador” of not only Western University, but of Canada. Email mpavilons@rogers.com if interested in the painting.

Helen Lucas original for sale - “The Holy Spirit” For sale is a unique original painting by renowned floral artist Helen Lucas. “Holy Spirt,” is an original acrylic on wood frame piece that captures spirituality in a simple way, through a dove. Created in 2017. The small set of originals was meant to be printed as art cards for a church fundraiser. Only 5-6 of these doves exist (in different poses) so they are truly rare. This is the only one of its kind. Measures 19.5” by 23.5.” Lucas originals are quite valuable and sought after. Asking $1,200 or best offer. If interested, email mpavilons@rogers.com

Unique custom-designed diamond and emerald ring

It combines 3 apple green Colombian emeralds of .15 each, for a total of .45 carats. They are joined by roughly .28 points of small diamonds of decent quality. They are set in 14kt gold and the ring weighs roughly 10 grams. It’s also roughly a size 10. Truly unique, will get attention. Worn only on special occasions. Asking $1,500 or best offer. Proceeds from the sale help support University of Western student Alexandria Hesketh-Pavilons, who will be doing volunteer mission work in Kigali, Rwanda through the university’s interdisciplinary experiential learning course offered at Western.
